Application to carry out Tree Surgery Works to no 1 Group of Trees as shown within the South Somerset District Council (CHAR 1) 2006 Tree Preservation Order. G1 Including T1 Hybrid Black Poplar (Populus x canadensis) - Reduce all branches on southern aspect to suitable growth points by up to 3m, so they no longer overhang the northern boundary of Samuel Vickery Way. Remove any deadwood overhanging Samuel Vickery Way. Reason for works - The group contains many overextended limbs some of which overhang Samuel Vickery Way. Major deadwood is also present which could potentially fall into Samuel Vickery Way. The removal of the overhanging deadwood and reduction of the overhanging limbs is the minimum the our customer can hope to do as they are not the owner of these trees. T1 is part of the group which appears to have Ganoderma adsperum appearing at its base. Additionally one of the trees within the group has fallen towards Samuel Vickery Way causing damage to the fence, evidence of Ganoderma adsperum and Armillaria mellea can be seen on the remaining stem.
