Seaglass Church Road Bembridge Isle Of Wight PO35 5NA

26/01150/TW Awaiting decision
36 Beachfield Road Sandown Isle Of Wight PO36 8LT
TG1; Sycamore and Leylandii trees situated on bankside between property 36 Beechfield and Bayshore and Royal Pier Hotels (approximately 30 trees) - Fell. Reason: Trees are self-set in an unmanaged area, causing issues for the homeowner and posing problems for the hotels below. Bring the bankside area back into management by removing the larger trees and allowing it to regenerate as coppice, so they can be periodically cut down at ground level when they get too large in the future. Some trees have unstable root conditions, are growing through telecoms cables, interfere with fire escape routes from the hotels below, and come into close contact with kitchen electrical systems, which may pose a future fire risk if left unmanaged. Tree failure on the bankside could block the fire escapes for the hotels below.

26/00692/TW Granted
St Catherines School Grove Road Ventnor Isle Of Wight PO38 1TT
Amendment to proposed works (received 19.07.2026): TG1; Bay - Reduce all trees surrounding the perimeter to a manageable hedge height and remove the failed, dangerous bay groups at ground level. Hedge finish height approximately 2m (or a height similar to the metal square mesh fencing). Coppice bay on the south bankside. TG2; Bay, elder - Reduce to 1.5m for management as hedging. T1; Bay - Reduce to approximately 1.5m/manageable hedge height. Reason: Trees are making contact with the building. T2; Yew - Reduce by approx. 40%, retaining some lower inner crown and form. Reason: Reduce the tree to a manageable size. Concerns regarding toxicity of the trees in an area that could pose a risk to vulnerable children eating tree material. T3; Bay (multi-stem) - Fell S and SE stems due to basal decay caused by bracket fungi. Reason: Risk to allotment below. T4; Ash - 30% crown reduction in the area overhanging the car park, in the NE corner, to rebalance due to previously failed branches. T5; Holly - Crown reduction by 30%. T6; Holly - Remove at ground. T7; Bay - Remove at ground. T8; Holly - Crown reduction by 30%. T9; Holly - Repollard at previous points.

26/00658/TW Granted
Flat 3 Seahaven 23 Carter Street Sandown Isle Of Wight PO36 8AA
Amended proposed works (6th July 2026): T1; Beech; Crown reduce 20%, crown lift to 4m, removing the lowest branch east over the carparking area for Seahaven. Crown clean, deadwood removal. Reason: Reduce impact of tree on surrounding area; the tree is coming into contact with buses to the north and extending over the car parking area to the east; an electrical substation is located just beneath it to the west.

26/00562/TW Granted
Downs View Thorley Road Yarmouth Isle Of Wight PO41 0SH
T1; Macrocarpa: (See photos for reference) - Reduce the top of the crown in height by approx. 2 metres; Crown to the west reduce by approx. 1.5 to 2 metres, reducing the crown over-extended branches back into the general crown mass; Crown to the east reduce by 1 to 1.5 metres, removing the over-extended crown back into the general crown mass; Crown is to be left in a natural form, where possible, more balanced. Top of the crown should be reduced by approx. 2 metres. This being approximately the same height as the tree with a slight lean; Southern side of the crown be reduced by up to approx. 3 metres. Bringing the overextended branches back into the general crown mass; Northern side of the crown is to be reduced by no more than 1 metre to form a natural form with the reduction from the east and west; The crown is to be left in a natural form. The branch highlighted in purple is to be removed; Reduce in height the top of the smallest diameter tree stem, leaning NE towards the house, to the point where the first branch (from the top down) extending ESE meets the trunk (approximately 2m reduction).

26/00563/TW Granted
1 Woodland Mews East Hill Road Ryde Isle Of Wight PO33 1QU
Amendment to proposed works 08.06.2026: T1; Yew - Reduce height by 3-4m; bring in laterally to match by 1.5m-2m; crown lift to 2.5m from pavement. Reason: Increase light penetration into the shaded garden space and make tree a more manageable size for future maintenance, also reducing impact on the footway on Easthill Road. TG1; Mixed species - Reduce all branches extending north and overhanging the property 1, Woodland Mews. Trees are located south of the property boundary and north of the woodland pathway. Re-pollard the sycamores in the middle of this row that have previously been topped.

-

28 West Hill Road Ryde Isle Of Wight PO33 1LQ
T1; Holm oak: Re-pollard at fence height. Reason: Reduce its impact on the garden and for ease of future management. T2; Sycamore (3 stemmed sycamore): Remove at ground level. Reason: 1 stem looks to be dead, the other two showing bark delamination and poor health, possibly sooty bark disease, risk of future failure.

26/00286/TW Granted
Carisbrooke Health Centre 22 High Street Carisbrooke Newport Isle Of Wight PO30 1NR
Amendment to proposed works 10.04.2026. This application includes trees covered by TPO and Conservation Area: T1; Ash - Remove at ground level. T2; Ash - 30% crown reduction. Reason: To reduce wind exposure following upcoming works and mitigate the risk of branch failure over the car park, school, and surgery. T3; Holm oak - Remove at ground level. TG1; Ash and sycamore - Remove all dead and dying small trees in this group, including those overhanging the car park and the two sycamores beneath T3. We will retain viable options for regeneration in these areas. Reason: Dead and dying stems pose a risk to car park users. T4; Beech - Removal at ground level. T5; Sycamore - Remove to crown break (retain stem as standing deadwood). T6; Ash - 30% crown reduction. Reason; To reduce wind exposure from the proposed works and the recently fallen trees, and mitigate the risk of branch failure over the surgery car park. T7: Sycamore - 30% reduction to align with the new proposed crown profile of T1. Reason: To reduce windthrow risk from new exposure. Note: This tree has a large hole/burrow at its base, which may compromise stability. T8: Sycamore - 30% reduction to align with the new crown profile of T6. Reason: To reduce the risk of branch breakage over the surgery car park due to new exposure.
