    106 Clifton Hill London NW8 0JS

This application is for the removal of the 2 'Fastigiate Yew' trees (T1 & T2) as identified on the drawing 8975-LP(90)102-P1. The trees do not have a ?tree preservation order? on them, but the property at 106 Clifton Hill lies within the St. Johns Wood Conservation Area. The 2 trees (T1 & T2) are located at the front of the house facing onto Clifton Hill road. The trees are located approximately four metres from the road and stand either side of the short flight of steps up to the building's main entrance. The reasons for requesting removal are as follows: The applicant is concerned that the trees provide a hiding place for intruders that reduces the security of the residents and visitors when approaching the entrance. There have been a number of incidents reported to the police. The tree nearest the driveway also prevents the opening of car doors when a car is parked in the driveway. The applicant is therefore applying for permission to have these two trees removed. T1 &T2 are trees of moderate quality but are not part of the original landscaping of the gardens and there are no other similar arrangements of trees at the entrances of the other neighboring properties.
