Otherwise the regrowth could start to fail. 3. The pruning will improve the relationship between the tree and its location. 4. The target area should the tree or a portion of it fail is the property, driveway and main road. Any failure has the potential to lead to significant damage to property and/or serious injuries. Summary - The proposed works will make significant difference to Clients use and enjoyment of their garden and will help to prevent future conflicts between the trees and the property. Reasons for works - To contain the size and spread of the tree, to prevent future problems. - The pruning will be carried out in accordance with the guidelines in BS3998 and is therefore is a recognised pruning technique. - The pruning will only remove an estimated 15-20% of the total leaf area of the tree and therefore the overall effect on the tree will be minimal. - Allow more light into the garden and property - To give adequate clearance to the side of the house and the roof. - The trees are obscured, to the most part by the surrounding buildings and other trees. Therefore the removal of the branches will not be highly noticeable from a public area and therefore any loss of visual amenity will be minimal. - The area has plenty of tree cover and therefore any loss of visual amenity will be minimal. - The tree's vitality is good and therefore the pruning will not have a significant detrimental effect on the overall condition of the tree. - The tree has grown significantly since the TPO was placed on it and I do not see it as unreasonable for the home owners to request the specified pruning . Summary The proposed works will make a significant difference to enhance the living conditions for the residents, contain the size of the tree, rectify the problems/worries the tree is causing. This will far out way the minimal loss of visual amenity provided by the small amount of branches that are proposed to be pruned.
