T1- Lime tree TAG NUMBER: 1594. The tree is up to 50% dead. The tree is a large twin stemmed lime with static targets near by (houses) and parked cars frequently underneath, with the Causeway footpath and road adjacent. Section fell the tree cutting the stump to near ground level.

Section fell the tree cutting the stump to near ground level.

T1- Gladitsia. Reduce and reshape the tree by removal of 1.5-2m of height and lateral spread to manage the size of the tree in its given space. Remove the low branch heading over the neighbours wall

T1- Lime. The Lime tree has been pruned on many occasions in the past, more recently has been maintained as a re-structured lapsed pollard; regeneration growth is apparent in the upper crown and lateral spread from the most recent reduction work. The tree has prolific basal growth up to the main crown break. Proposed work specification: to remove a substantial portion of the basal epicormic to allow for basal inspection without damaging the screening of the adjoining hedge; to remove the epicormic up to crown break and to reduce the tree back to the the most recent point of pruning removing 2-3m of regeneration growth from the height and lateral spread to manage the trees overall size.

TG1- Trim X2 Yew trees adjacent to the drive to manage as more compact specimens. They have been reduced and hedge cut in the past to manage them as large topiary 'domes' T2- Hazel (coppice stool). Reduce the tree by 2m and thin the tree adjacent to the high street and wall to manage overall size and spread T3- Hawthorn. Trim the tree to manage as a 'dome' or 'ball'; the tree has been routinely hedge trimmed in the past T4- Yew (to the north east of the house). Reduce the lateral spread of the Yew by 2.5-3m adjacent to the Hawthorn and house focusing on the branches towards the house and over the green house in particular to prevent the direct contact of the branches on the roof and shading over the green house TG5- Reduce the Beech stems by approximately 1.5m to manage as a hedge. A row of over grown hedging plants in the north west corner of the garden to be re-instated as a low screen

G2- x3 Cypress (mis identified as Western Red Cedar on the original application) An application was made in 2016 to fell the three trees in this group and permission was granted. This application is being made as the original permission has subsequently expired. It is proposed that the x3 trees in this group are felled and replaced as per the original application. One of the trees in this group has had continual tear outs, another a thinning canopy with the remaining multi-stemmed tree in relative good shape by comparison but would be exposed to buffering once the adjacent companion trees are removed. The trees are over mature. The benefit of removing the trees and replacing with Cherry trees to mirror the existing impressive Japanese specimen already present on site would create a continuation of the tree-scape and further reinforce the planting of the era.
