There are pictures attached of one of the limbs shed last summer. To reduce the risk of any other branches failing, I would like to reduce the tree by 25% making cuts no more than 10cm on horizontal growth and 15cm on vertical growth. This will remove wight from each limb reducing the risk of them failing. Leaving the tree approx 13.5m.

We are requesting the removal of a large sycamore tree on the West side of the driveway at St Ronans, the tree is imposing on the yew trees that sit behind it and it is also intruding on the tree canopy of the Scotch Pines, which pre date the Sycamore and are characteristic of the Warberry Hillside. The sycamore also creates a lot of debris in Autumn and pigeons roost in it in Spring and this creates a dangerous surface for some of the elderly residents that live in the flats at St Ronans. This is already a steep driveway so the combination in the winter makes it very dangerous. If removal of the sycamore is granted we will replace it with a new yew tree or Scotch Pine, whichever is your preference.

The tree is very close to the properties and has had some primary branch failures recently from the upper crown into the garden areas. The target for falling debris is the property and neighbouring properties. The tree in its situation dominates the garden area which is a seating space for social outside gatherings. The dominance of the crown impacts on the reasonable enjoyment of that area due to its close proximity to the tree. The house being built so close to the tree has resulted in pressure to work and remove the tree.
