We hereby give notice of our intention to fell two mature conifer trees located within the front garden of Rosemary Cottage. Both trees have reached an estimated height of approximately 15?20 metres and have significantly outgrown the scale and setting of the property. Due to their size and proximity to the building, they now may cause future potential damage to Rosemary cottage and are having a detrimental impact on the reasonable enjoyment and management of the site. The conifer closest to the dwelling is situated approximately 2.5 metres from the front elevation of the cottage and is an inappropriate species for its proximity to the building and poses foreseeable risk to foundations, drains and gutters Its height and dense evergreen canopy cause substantial shading to the principal rooms of the property, significantly reducing natural daylight throughout the year. In addition, lateral growth extends into the driveway, preventing the entrance gates from opening fully and restricting safe and convenient access to the property. Given the tree's close proximity to the dwelling and its mature size, there is also concern that it has the potential to affect the property's foundations over time, and its continued growth presents an ongoing risk that we wish to address proactively. The second conifer has expanded to occupy a substantial proportion of the front garden and is located in close proximity to the boundary wall adjoining Clayton Road. Owing to its size and continued growth, there are concerns that the tree may adversely affect the structural stability of the boundary wall, creating the potential for damage to the wall and presenting a risk to the adjacent public footway. The proposed removal of these trees would address the above issues while allowing for a more appropriate form of landscaping. We are committed to maintaining the verdant character of the property and the wider Conservation Area and therefore propose to plant two ornamental flowering cherry t
