T1 Sycamore — protected by TPO 18/1999 Species: Sycamore Tree reference: T1, as identified in TPO 18/1999 and shown on the attached sketch plan Location: Western boundary of Brookside, Brook Street, Benson, adjacent to 111 Brook Street, Benson, OX10 6LJ Proposed works: Selective lateral reduction of the house-facing side of the crown, pruning branches back to suitable growth points, broadly to the red line shown on the attached annotated photograph, to provide approximately 3 metres clearance from the roof ridge, roof slopes, gutters, gullies and Velux roof windows of 111 Brook Street. The works are to be carried out by a suitably qualified and insured arborist in accordance with BS 3998, retaining the natural form, balance and amenity value of the tree as far as practicable. This is not an application to fell the tree, top the tree, or carry out a general heavy crown reduction. The proposal is for limited, targeted pruning on the house-facing side only. Reasons for works: The tree canopy is close to the house and contributes to bird fouling on the patio and Velux roof windows, leaves and debris collecting in gutters and gullies, and shading/restricted airflow contributing to moss growth on the roof. The proposed pruning is intended to create a practical maintenance clearance while retaining the tree. Replacement planting: Not applicable, as the tree is not proposed to be felled.

T116 Cherry - Tree has significantly deteriorated since the survey in December 2024 and is almost now dead – it is visibly in poor form and there is significant defoliation. Recommendation: Given the proximity of the footpath and safety concerns, it is recommended to fell to ground level.
